The son of Joe - who netted over 100 League goals during his career - Jamie found them hard to come by at Combination level, netting just a handful in thirty games.

Having just been released by the Cobblers, Paul played in the second half of Town's opening pre-season friendly at Supermarine.

Khalil featured in the two pre-season friendlies at Yate and Supermarine, playing in 45 minutes of each and scoring the third Town goal in the second.

Pete was set to sign a pro contract in November 1986 when he was ruled out for two months with glandular fever. He then left the County Ground in the 1987 close season after suffering a bad ankle injury which prevented him from playing for four years.

Barry - who had gained nine caps for Scotland under-21s - was a substitute in the Combination game that Christian Lee found the target (q.v. below).

Mark made 17 appearances for the Combination side but was released on completion of his period as a trainee at the end of 1989/90.

Fred turned out for Town - and scored - in the benefit match for the family of pre-War star Alan Fowler. Fred later worked as a security guard for the BBC and while in that capacity suffered a heart attack at St Pauls Cathedral during the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Christian played in Town's opening Combination fixture, scoring in a 1-3 home defeat by Wycombe.

Normally utilised as a wide left player, Sheldon's apprenticeship was cancelled when his family emigrated to Los Angeles in December 1985.

Right-back Harry was unable to force his way into the Town side - kept out by Wally Dickinson who was 15 years his senior ! Harry moved to south London in search of first team football, but had to wait 15 months for his big chance - at local rivals QPR. Palace lost 0-4 and he was not given another. By the outbreak of War, Harry had moved to Luton where he worked as a motor mechanic.

Lewis played in the second half of Town's opening pre-season programme at Brimscombe and then in the opening 45 minutes for Hungerford against Town a fortnight later !

Lance found the target in all of the first five rounds of the Youth Cup in 2003/04 before Town lost out to Crewe in the quarter-final. But he struggled to find his form after leaving the County Ground and announced that he was leaving the game in November 2006. He was given another chance by Ciren boss - former Town player Adi Viveash - in the following summer.

A Welsh born left-back, Lyndon was a regular in the Colts side but had made just a dozen reserve appearances spread over three seasons when he was given a part-time pro contact at the age of 28. He combined his football with the job of coach builder at the Great Western Railway carriage works. Released in May 1951.

Just released by Reading, Dan played in the opening hour of the pre-season calendar - in a 2-1 defeat at Supermarine.

Clive had made three senior appearances while at Ninian Park, but made only seven reserve appearances during a brief spell at the County Ground.

David netted three times in eight Combination games, but was not offered a contract by the board. His trial was terminated on 26 September.

John missed most of the 1962/63 season due to injury, but was a regular at left-back in the Combination side in the following season. He made more than 70 League appearances after moving to the Manor Ground.

Paul was originally signed as youth team goalkeeper, but the club then realised he was too old ! He managed just a single appearance in Town's reserve side, when he was unfortunately on the end of a 7-1 defeat to a Peterborough side that included seven first team players who were involved in a pay dispute. Later in his career, as a manager, Paul took Devizes to the quarter-finals of the F A Vase.

On arriving from Anfield Frank went straight into Town's Combination side at left-wing. But after failing to get a first team chance, he put in for a transfer and he was released at the end of April 1959.

Doug played for the second 45 minutes of Town's pre-season visit to Melksham but was not selected to travel with the squad to Spain and quickly linked up with the Shrews.

Steve made his Combination debut in March 1977, keeping a clean sheet in a goalless draw with Arsenal. But he appeared in only 15 more games at that level, the last coming in November 1978.

Played in each of the two opening pre-season friendlies and earned a place on the plane to La Manga, but Town did not pursue interest in him on their return.
